Basketball Recap: Crossroads Christian Skates Past Sandhills Classical Christian with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crossroads Christian). They blew past the Sandhills Classical Christian Lions 108-26 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crossroads Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Watkins, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 15 points along with seven steals and six assists. The game was Watkins' fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Jayson Baskerville was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 22 points and nine boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Crossroads Christian and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 97.5 points over those games. As for Sandhills Classical Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Crossroads Christian will head out to face off against Cape Fear Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sandhills Classical Christian, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Lee Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
