Softball Game Preview: Reed-Custer Comets vs. Coal City Coalers

For the second straight game, Reed-Custer will face off against Coal City. The Comets will welcome the Coalers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Reed-Custer is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Reed-Custer is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since April 8, 2024 on Monday. They lost 10-4 to Coal City.

For Coal City's part, Kaycee Graf was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Khloe Picard, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Coal City's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Reed-Custer, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.
