Softball Recap: Ocean View Christian Has No Trouble Against Borrego Springs

Ocean View Christian won the last time they faced Borrego Springs and things went their way on Saturday too. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 17-6 margin over the Rams. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won six matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Anna Lair was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Ibarra, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Ocean View Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Borrego Springs only posted a batting average of .250.

The win made it two in a row for Ocean View Christian and bumps their season record up to 7-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Borrego Springs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
