Ballard Memorial had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 6-22 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Crittenden County Rockets 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bombers have posted since March 29th.

As for Crittenden County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 16 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

For Crittenden County's part, Jaxton Duncan and Davis Perryman did some serious damage despite the final result: Duncan got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, while Perryman got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases. Quinn Summers was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Looking ahead, Ballard Memorial will challenge Fort Campbell at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.41 runs per game on average), something the Bombers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
