Baseball Recap: Salmon's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

If Salmon was feeling good fresh off their 17-4 takedown of Soda Springs on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Salmon fell 7-4 to the Challis Vikings on Saturday. The loss was the Savages' first of the season.

Wyatt Pilkerton was cooking despite his team's loss, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kesl Severe, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Pilkerton wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Salmon lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Salmon fell to 2-1-1. As for Challis, the win keeps they at an undefeated 3-0-1.

Challis wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Teton on the 25th. Hopefully Salmon payed attention to Challis' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on Challis at 4:00 p.m. on April 1.
