The Water Valley Blue Devils will face off against the Strayhorn Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Water Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

Water Valley will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating South Panola, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. Water Valley came out on top against South Panola by a score of 11-8 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Brennan Carter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Turnage, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. He also got a hit, marking his first of the season. Isiah Webb was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Strayhorn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 16-3 to Tupelo Christian Prep.

Strayhorn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiyden Saulsberry, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Strayhorn's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Water Valley, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Everything went Water Valley's way against Strayhorn in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, as Water Valley made off with a 13-1 win. Will Water Valley repeat their success, or does Strayhorn have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
