Preview: Sunset Bison vs. Kimball Knights
Sunset is 1-8 against Kimball since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Sunset Bison will head out on the road to face off against the Kimball Knights at 7:30 p.m. Sunset will be strutting in after a win while Kimball will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Lakehill Prep scored an imposing 55 points last Tuesday, Sunset still came out on top. Sunset walked away with a 67-55 victory over Lakehill Prep. Sunset didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.
Meanwhile, Kimball's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of South Oak Cliff by a score of 53-50. The game was a 25-25 toss-up at halftime, but Kimball was just barely outscored by South Oak Cliff in the second.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Marri Wickware, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaylon Dean-Vines, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Sunset's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Kimball, they have fallen quite a ways from their 33-2 record last season and are now at 3-5.
Sunset was dealt a bruising 93-35 defeat at the hands of Kimball when the teams last played back in January. Can Sunset avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
