Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Hayden Tschappat and Camila Vargas Lead Cordova to Victory

Cordova barely beat Ninilchik the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Cordova blew past Ninilchik 3-0 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for Cordova in their matchups with Ninilchik: they've now won nine in a row.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-13, 25-17.

Leading Cordova to victory were Camila Vargas and Hayden Tschappat. Vargas had four aces, while Tschappat had seven digs. That's the most aces Vargas has posted since back in September.

They weren't the only good servers: Cordova was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive matchups.

Cordova's win bumped their record up to 22-10. As for Ninilchik, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-19.

Coincidentally, Cordova and Ninilchik will both be playing Cook Inlet Academy the next time they take the court. Cordova will head out to face Cook Inlet Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Ninilchik will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
