Game recap: Notre Dame Prep high school football team rolls to victory over Cactus Shadows

Notre Dame Prep (Scottsdale, Ariz.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat Cactus Shadows (Cave Creek, Ariz.), 34-6, on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Nick Duckworth to Jordan Schlueter in the first quarter, the Saints led 28-0 at the half.

Notre Dame Prep expanded its lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. NDP scored two times in the third, including once on a field goal by Grayson Naquin.

The Scottsdale school's most effective player was Duckworth. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns.

Bryce Kinsler made a difference for the Falcons. The senior quarterback ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to two on the year.

Cactus Shadows' lone touchdown came on a 16-yard run by Kinsler in the fourth quarter.



Coming into the game the Saints had allowed 27.1 points per game this year. Notre Dame Prep held firm on the defensive front, and kept CS well below the 23.9 points it had been averaging per game.

NDP also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 41-14.

Cactus Shadows (2-6) goes up against Paradise Valley in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Notre Dame Prep (4-4) locks horns with McClintock in a II Section III game.
