Softball Recap: Damonte Ranch Beats Galena for Their Third Straight Victory

Damonte Ranch had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Galena Grizzlies. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by just one run.

Madison Gradillias tossed a big game, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, Olivia Mares was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 contests. Samantha Tapia also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Damonte Ranch's record is now 8-15. As for Galena, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-20-1 record this season.
