Football Recap: Colusa RedHawks vs. Paradise Bobcats
Colusa had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-6 to make it seven. They fell 35-24 to the Paradise Bobcats. The RedHawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
Ayden Rico threw for 67 yards and one touchdown on only five passes. Nathan Meza was his top target, picking up 40 receiving yards. On the ground, Eric Gonzales rushed for 71 yards.
As for Paradise, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Evan Higgs continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 244 yards and five TDs while picking up 12.8 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 116.3 rushing yards per game.
Colusa will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Willows at 7:30 p.m. on the 30th. As for Paradise, they will challenge Pierce at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bears' defense has only allowed 5.9 points per game this season, so the Bobcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
