Baseball Recap: Rittman Takes a Loss

Rittman lost against Hillsdale on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Indians fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 8-7. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rittman saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Spencer Welch, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Welch is becoming a predictor of the Indians' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 3-6 when he doesn't). Another was Carson Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Rittman's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Hillsdale, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rittman will head out to challenge Fairless at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hillsdale, they will venture away from home to take on West Holmes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
