Softball Recap: New Castle Has No Trouble Against Wilmington

New Castle had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Wilmington on Wednesday. The Hurricanes blew past the Greyhounds 11-4. The Hurricanes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

Lexi Moyer tossed a big game, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Keara Mangieri was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mikayla DiGennaro, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

New Castle lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are 7-3 when they post two or more home runs.

The win got New Castle back to even at 10-10. As for Wilmington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season.

As of now, neither New Castle nor Wilmington have any future games scheduled.
