Basketball Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

Marshall was the 70-55 winner over Aitkin when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Hilltoppers were dealt an 84-38 loss at the hands of the Gobblers on Wednesday. The Hilltoppers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 5-20. As for Aitkin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Marshall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Aitkin, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 96-45 win against Moose Lake/Willow River on the 26th.
