            Baseball Recap: Fort Payne Wildcats vs. Marbury Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            Fort Payne was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight  loss. They were two  runs away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marbury Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  defeat the Wildcats have suffered  since March 27, 2024.
 Fort Payne saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Ryker Shankles, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
Fort Payne's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Marbury, the  win was  the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-2.
 Coming up,  a feisty cat fight will be fought as Fort Payne Wildcats  challenge  Southside Panthers at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. This will  be Fort Payne's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Marbury, they will welcome Gardendale  at 2:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Marbury has won ten straight at home dating back to last season, while Gardendale won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
