Russell County hadn't done well against Columbus recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Russell County Warriors had just enough and edged out the Columbus Blue Devils 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Blue Devils on Saturday, they had to take a 7-3 defeat.

Shane Otipoby was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. Colton Armstrong also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Russell County's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Columbus, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Russell County will welcome Eufaula at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Columbus, they will square off against Glenwood at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
