Softball Recap: Greenfield Has No Trouble Against Mccann Tech

Greenfield won the last time they faced McCann Tech and things went their way on Saturday too. The Green Wave blew past the Hornets 13-3. Considering the Green Wave have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

MacKenzie Paulin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anna Bucala, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Grace Laurie was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Greenfield and bumps their season record up to 13-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for McCann Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

As of now, neither Greenfield nor the Hornets have any future games scheduled.
