Basketball Recap: Gardner-Edgerton Extends Winning Streak to Four

It's playoff time, and Gardner-Edgerton had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-50 victory over the Shawnee Mission Northwest Cougars on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Trailblazers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Gardner-Edgerton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landri Schaffer led the charge by shooting 46% from the field to rack up 20 points. The match was Schaffer's ninth in a row with at least 18 points. Kylie Kyle was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Gardner-Edgerton now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Shawnee Mission Northwest, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
