Football Recap: Howard Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Howard had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their game with ease, bagging a 36-0 victory over the Hodgson Vo-Tech Eagles. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 21-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Howard's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jameson Bryant, who threw for 271 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Those four passing touchdowns gave Bryant a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Korey Manley, who picked up 148 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Howard and Hodgson Vo-Tech will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Wildcats see the field they'll take on McKean at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Hodgson Vo-Tech, their break will end when they face Delaware Military Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
