Northwestern entered their tilt with North East on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Grape Pickers a 6-0 shutout. The Wildcats' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four games.

Northwestern's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for North East, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Northwestern is set to challenge their familiar foe Conneaut Area at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, North East will take on rival Girard at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
