Basketball Recap: Clinton Prairie Picks Up 12th Straight Win at Home

Clinton Prairie entered their tilt with Speedway on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went their way against the Speedway Sparkplugs as they made off with a 71-45 victory. Given the Gophers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Sparkplugs are ranked 392nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clinton Prairie pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.1 points per game. As for Speedway, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Clinton Prairie is facing Clinton Central at the right time seeing as Clinton Central is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Speedway, they will head out on the road to face off against Shelbyville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Shelbyville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Speedway likes a good challenge.
