Football Game Preview: Keys Cougars vs. Adair Warriors

The Keys Cougars will square off against the Adair Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Keys is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 75-28 victory over Chelsea. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

A big part of Keys' victory came down to the chemistry between Ryder Davis and his top target Treveon Guthrie. Davis rushed for 112 yards and two scores on only seven carries while Guthrie rushed for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns. What's more, Davis racked up 135 passing yards, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Garret Lemasters, who rushed for 43 yards and two TDs.

Keys was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 361 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 198 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Adair put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past Colcord to the tune of 54-14. With the Warriors ahead 46-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Keys now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Adair, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Keys has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 244.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Adair struggles in that department as they've been averaging 159.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
