Baseball Recap: Gonzaga Prep Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Gonzaga Prep won the last time they faced Mead and things went their way on Friday too. The Bullpups blew past the Panthers 11-1. The Bullpups might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Dylan Croall spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gonzaga Prep let Grant Yost and Briggs Beaudoin run wild. Yost went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Beaudoin went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Yost a new career-high. Jaden Sarto was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Gonzaga Prep's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Mead, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Looking ahead, Gonzaga Prep will challenge Mt. Spokane at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Bullpups surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mead, they will square off against Lewis & Clark at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
