Basketball Recap: Alice Coyotes vs. Corpus Christi Moody Trojans
If Alice was riding high fresh off their 69-38 takedown of King last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Alice Coyotes took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Corpus Christi Moody Trojans. The Coyotes haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Corpus Christi Moody found their leader in sophomore Aaliyah Hazel, who went 12 for 17 on her way to 27 points and five rebounds. Alice's defeat dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Corpus Christi Moody, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-7.
Alice will venture away from home to face off against Carroll at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Alice's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups. As for Corpus Christi Moody, they will take on Flour Bluff at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Corpus Christi Moody has won nine straight at home, while Flour Bluff won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
