Recap: Pemberton Hornets vs. Doane Academy
The Pemberton Hornets can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Monday. They managed a 62-57 win over Doane Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Doane Academy still got an impressive performance from Vaughn Hoagland, who scored 29 points. Another player making a difference was Colin Warman, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Pemberton's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Doane Academy, their loss was their third straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-1.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Northern Burlington the next time they take the court. Doane Academy will head out to face Northern Burlington at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Pemberton will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
