Softball Game Preview: Pittsford Panthers vs. Penfield Patriots

The Pittsford Panthers will head out to take on the Penfield Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pittsford took a 12-run loss the last time they faced off against Batavia, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Blue Devils on Wednesday, sneaking past 6-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Penfield earned a 9-6 win over Hilton on Friday.

Clare Magee tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, Alexi Cimino was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Megan Clark was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Penfield pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Pittsford, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
