Football Game Preview: Tolsia Rebels vs. Chapmanville Regional Tigers

The Tolsia Rebels will take on the Chapmanville Regional Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Tolsia is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 52-12 win over Calhoun. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Rebels considering their eight-point performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Chapmanville Regional put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Williamstown 50-13. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won three games by 37 points or more so far this season.

Tolsia better keep an eye on Preston Kovach. He was instrumental in Chapmanville Regional's win, rushing for 162 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Those 162 rushing yards gave Kovach a new career-high. Trey Ward was another key player, gaining 102 total yards and three touchdowns.

Chapmanville Regional was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 254 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 172 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Chapmanville Regional, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ward, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Tolsia's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Chapmanville Regional, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Everything came up roses for Tolsia against Chapmanville Regional when the teams last played back in October of 2015, as the squad secured a 76-45 victory. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
