Basketball Recap: Winfield Comes Up Short

Winfield won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Nitro Wildcats 77-49. The Generals haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Nitro's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Stephens 6?1 165Lbs, who posted 17 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. The dominant performance gave Stephens 6?1 165Lbs a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Poniatowski, who earned eight points along with eight boards and four blocks.

Winfield's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. As for Nitro, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.
