Softball Recap: Ballard Wins Going Away Against Seattle Prep

Ballard had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Seattle Prep on Thursday. Ballard was the clear victor by a 16-6 margin over Seattle Prep. The Beavers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by ten runs or more this season.

Ballard let Colette Howren and Katie Davis run wild. Howren went 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI, while Davis scored two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Those two triples gave Howren a new career-high. Elsa Sand was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

Ballard hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive games.

Ballard's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. As for Seattle Prep, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Ballard is taking a road trip to face off against Skyline at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Seattle Prep, they will square off against Nathan Hale at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
