Softball Recap: Conard Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Conard dropped their record down to 8-3 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The result was an unpleasant reminder to them of the 8-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

As for Rocky Hill, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

For Rocky Hill's part, Ingris Lin tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Lianna Tejada and Ally Killoran did most of the damage at the plate: Tejada went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Killoran went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Juliana Incarvito was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Looking ahead, Conard will welcome Simsbury at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Red Wolves surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rocky Hill, they will challenge Southington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Knights' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Terriers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
