Football Recap: Gaither Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Gaither, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They strolled past the King Lions with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 19-0. That's more bragging rights for the Cowboys, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Carolyn Emmanuel threw for 52 yards and one touchdown. Chyann Herring was her top target, picking up 27 receiving yards.

The win got Gaither back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gaither will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Wharton at 7:30 p.m. on March 4th. As for King, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. King is coming into the matchup on an 11-game losing streak dating back to last season.
