Basketball Recap: Hurricane Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Hurricane came into Thursday's match having lost 12 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Dixie Flyers by a score of 66-54 on Thursday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Tigers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Flyers are ranked 28th).

Hurricane's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hallee Wardle, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 12 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Adalyn Johnson, who went 6 for 9 en route to 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Hurricane's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 4-14. As for Dixie, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Pine View the next time they take the court. Hurricane will head out to face Pine View at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Dixie will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th.
