Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Gilmer, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Kilgore a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Buckeyes as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Spring Hill's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Gilmer, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.
