Softball Recap: Oakland Has No Trouble Against Umpqua Valley Christian

Oakland's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs with a sharp 15-4 victory. Considering the Oakers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Maddie Dalberti made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Dalberti was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Ella Whittaker was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Kelsie Pfaff was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

With the win, Oakland broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Umpqua Valley Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Oakland will welcome Glendale at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Umpqua Valley Christian, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lowell at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
