Volleyball Recap: Pearl Takes a Loss

Pearl came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Brandon Bulldogs, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-8, 25-10.

Brandon found their leader in freshman Lynnon Rhodes, who had 14 digs and one assist. Rhodes has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Pearl's loss dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Brandon, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pearl will face off against rival Petal at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Brandon is set to challenge their familiar foe Northwest Rankin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
