Lakeside School had already won 17 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it 18 on Tuesday. They never let the Evangel Christian Lightning get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-2 on Tuesday.

Not much got past Carson Scott, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Evangel Christian off the board. Scott has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lakeside School's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Boston Brown, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one double.

Lakeside School hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Evangel Christian struck out seven times.

Lakeside School's victory was their 26th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 47-4. As for Evangel Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 24-3.

Lakeside School and Evangel Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Chiefs (ranked 28th) will meet Deerfield-Windsor (ranked 149th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lakeside School 1.5, the Knights 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Evangel Christian will take on Southern Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (50 vs. 248).
