Baseball Game Preview: Pleasant Grove Vikings vs. Davis Darts

The Pleasant Grove Vikings will take on the Davis Darts at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

Pleasant Grove is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs last Saturday, they were much more limited against Mountain Ridge on Monday. They fell just short of the Sentinels by a score of 3-2.

Keaton Nordick was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, C.J. Anderson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Davis narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Clearfield 4-3. The Darts haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Lincoln Green looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits.

On the hitting side, Owen Talbot was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Pleasant Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Davis, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Everything went Pleasant Grove's way against Davis when the teams last played back in May of 2019, as Pleasant Grove made off with a 9-2 win. Does Pleasant Grove have another victory up their sleeve, or will Davis turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
