Volleyball Recap: Kerman Extends Winning Streak to Five

Kerman entered their tilt with Sierra Pacific on Monday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Golden Bears. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Golden Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

While Kerman won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-17, 26-24.

Alicia Valle was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 12 digs and three aces. Anya Bakholdin also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Kerman was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in five consecutive matches.

Kerman's record is now 20-7. As for Sierra Pacific, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Kerman will take on Hanford West at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sierra Pacific, they will challenge Reedley at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
