Liberty is 8-2 against Point Pleasant Boro since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Lions will welcome the Panthers at 10:00 a.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Liberty is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since May 21, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Toms River North, sneaking past 11-10.

Meanwhile, Point Pleasant Boro earned an 8-4 victory over St. Rose on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

John Loizos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nick Carmino was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Point Pleasant Boro's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-5 when he doesn't). James Bradley was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Liberty's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Point Pleasant Boro, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
