Softball Game Preview: Paragould Rams vs. Jonesboro Hurricane

Paragould is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Jonesboro a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Paragould Rams will look to defend their home field against the Jonesboro Hurricane at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Marion hit Paragould with a six-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 9-7.

Meanwhile, Jonesboro lost 11-1 to Conway on Thursday.

Jonesboro saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Sloan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Sloan has hit this season.

Jonesboro's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Paragould, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Paragould came out on top in a nail-biter against Jonesboro when the teams last played back in March of 2023, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Hurricane have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
