Baseball Game Preview: Tri-Valley Bears vs. Burke Catholic

The Tri-Valley Bears will challenge Burke Catholic at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tri-Valley, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized Burke Catholic's (thus far) undefeated season.

On Tuesday, Tri-Valley came up short against Chapel Field Christian and fell 6-3.

Meanwhile, Burke Catholic got the win against Rondout Valley on Tuesday by a conclusive 14-4. The result was nothing new for Burke Catholic, who have now won five matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Dylan DeMaro was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Drucker, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Burke Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

Burke Catholic's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Tri-Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
