Basketball Recap: Roane County Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Roane County can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Charleston Catholic Irish and fell 58-27. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-15.

Charleston Catholic found their leader in freshman Nora Aliff, who went 8-for-10 en route to 22 points and five boards. Aliff is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games she's played. Mary Rushworth was another key player, putting up eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Roane County's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Charleston Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 17-6.

Roane County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Charleston Catholic, they will square off against Logan at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Logan will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Charleston Catholic surely won't give up without a fight.
