Preview: Port Washington Vikings vs. Great Neck North Blazers
After two games on the road, Port Washington is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Great Neck North Blazers at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Port Washington pushed their score all the way to 66 two weeks ago, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 78-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chaminade.
Meanwhile, Great Neck North waltzed into their match Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 46-42 W over New Hyde Park Memorial.
Great Neck North got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Liam Sofi out in front who scored eight points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sofi has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brian Asnadi, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Port Washington's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1. As for Great Neck North, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
