Basketball Game Preview: Elysian Fields Yellowjackets vs. Beckville Bearcats

Elysian Fields and Beckville are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Elysian Fields Yellowjackets will welcome the Beckville Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Elysian Fields was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-53 to Waskom.

Despite their defeat, Elysian Fields saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Colby Stephens, who posted 17 points, was perhaps the best of all. Stephens' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Kennedy, who earned 16 points.

Meanwhile, Beckville waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 44-37.

Beckville has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Elysian Fields, they dropped their record down to 12-12 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
