Basketball Recap: Southern Door's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Saturday

Southern Door won the last time they faced Washington and things went their way on Saturday too. The Southern Door Eagles came out on top against the Washington Purgolders by a score of 71-60. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Purgolders are ranked 251st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Washington's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rudy Baker, who posted 20 points. The match was Baker's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Solomon Dotson, who put up 19 points.

Southern Door's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Washington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Southern Door wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-52 victory against Algoma on the 3rd. As for Washington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-59 win against Barack Obama Career & Tech on the 3rd.
