Baseball Recap: Saranac's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Saranac managed to slip by Rice Memorial the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Spartans lost 22-4 to the Green Knights on Thursday. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Saranac saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Seth Petrashune, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Owen Stiles also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Saranac fell to 5-1. As for Rice Memorial, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Saranac will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northeastern Clinton at 4:30 p.m. on the 28th. As for Rice Memorial, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Champlain Valley Union at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
