Soccer Game Preview: South Brunswick vs. West Bladen

The South Brunswick Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the West Bladen Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

South Brunswick will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals two weeks ago, then bounced right back against South Columbus on Wednesday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Stallions. The final result isn't all that surprising considering South Brunswick's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 276th, while South Columbus are ranked 562nd).

Meanwhile, West Bladen entered their tilt with South Columbus on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Stallions.

South Brunswick's win bumped their record up to 9-7-3. As for West Bladen, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9-1.

South Brunswick skirted past West Bladen 1-0 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
