On Monday Staley's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Blue Springs South Jaguars. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by just one run.
Grant Madrid was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. In other pitching news, Jake Thomas tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over 4.1 innings pitched.
Madrid wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Krue Patrick, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI. Carter Schaunaman also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
