Basketball Recap: Neiman Quach Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ocean View

Garden Grove won the last time they faced Ocean View and things went their way on Friday too. The Garden Grove Argonauts walked away with a 56-44 win over the Ocean View Seahawks.

Garden Grove's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Neiman Quach, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Quach a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Juarez, who posted 11 points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Ocean View's loss came despite strong showings from Nathan Rea Castaneda and Cavin Flanagan. Rea Castaneda put up nine points, while Flanagan had 11 points. Another player making a difference was Logan Covarrubias, who earned nine points and six rebounds.

Garden Grove's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Ocean View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Garden Grove has already played their next matchup, a 57-46 victory against Segerstrom on the 15th. As for Ocean View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 75-71 defeat against Costa Mesa on the 14th.
