Basketball Recap: Dillan Purifoy Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Kinston

Pleasant Home won the last time they faced Kinston and things went their way on Friday too. The Pleasant Home Eagles strolled past the Kinston Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 83-64. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 404th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pleasant Home to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dillan Purifoy, who dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 16 boards, and 13 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Bryan, who went 12 for 20 on his way to 26 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

Pleasant Home's record is now 12-2. As for Kinston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-15.

Pleasant Home will have a chance to go back-to-back against Kinston: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
